    hi again all,

I have car booked in for all underside work doing "mainly bushes and links".

Air box mod done, stright through pipe done, got the full power back.

so the next two jobs would be either sort the rust spots "usual places"

    or go for a remap.

each come with thier own issues, ie once body work is done do i go for respray or body wrap?

as for the remap only places local seem to only do a generic map for the 2.2 Dti, i have rang a few places but no one will touch it for the rolling road. so looks like i will have to travel to get it done.

would like your input on either aspect of the jobs eg any issues faced with either or even if you know some where that will do a decent remap.

Thanks in advance for any input

If you don't mind travelling to Newcastle upon Tyne Speak to @RADB02 about a remap he knows the 2.2dti like back of his hand.

Thank you paul 130, 104 mile is a welcomed drive. I will contact him now if i can fiquire out how to that is hehe, again my thanks.

just been for a quote on body repair and full respray, can not say i liked the quote, looking in to having the repairs sorted and a full body wrap, as its about half the price.

As for the repairs three doors have rust spots, rear arches, rear wiper removal. and some idiot used tiger seal on ariel and made a right mess. Looks like i may have to gey hold of and old door and learn how to repair body work. engines i can do, electrcals i can do, but body work scares me.

I live in a small village, everything expensive here, i can get a full wrap at around £1500 but require body work sorting before that.

with there being only 162 licenced 2.2 Dti's at the end of the first quarter of this year on the road & 176 SORN i figured it be worth getting sorted out properly.

Ideally i would just like the EGR mapping out and possibly a little more boost at lower revs, but if extra "omph" comes with it as well as a little MPG gain i wouldnt complain haha

I think remap is a 'want to do' and bodywork is a 'need to do'.

@NeilGo I would normally agree with you there but once i blank off the EGR valve the EML will do my head in, which make a Remap is now a 'need to do' aswell, body work isnt too bad right now and can wait a little while.

If you blank the egr valve off and not remove it the eml light wont come on but if you rip the whole egr off then the eml will come on you can just buy a blanking playe for it stips the eml coming on

you are correct on this,, but i will be ripping the whole lot out, no point in doing half a job :) but until its mapped i will put up with it tie wrapped up some where or put up with the EML. thinking remap a better option as a Xmas prezzie to myself from my kids.

Thank you @NeilGo looks simple enough to duplicate, although mine works on vacuum i guess the principle will be the same.

Well guys, I have had a lot of work done on the car since my last update:

    Steering rack
    Rear discs, pads & Shoes
    hand brake cable
    rear D bushes
    2 x front springs
    Drop links at front
    New front calipers
    under engine tray
    turbo to exhaust 90 bend

she is ready for her MOT next week, then a remap, I am still awaiting to hear about this matter from @Radb02

I will let you know how she gets on, MOT is on Thursday
