    Few pictures of the purchase as it comes. Has some minor damage here and there but overall seems ok.
    So I have a list of tasks and problems already!
    - Oil/Filter Change
    - Diesel Filter Change
    - Air Filter Change/Airbox Clean
    - Pollen Filter Change
    - Glowplugs if required
    - Poor MPG issues to investigate (Hindsight Thermostat and Fuel tank leak)
    - Track Rod, Track rod ends and retracking to do
    - Driver side spring (maybe as its almost 1CM lower in arch).
    - Carb Clean EGR, Boost Valve and Throttlebody and some related pipes
    - Another oil change every 1-2K until block appears cleaner
    - Magnetic Sump Plug
    - Wheel balance

    Other bits;
    - Damaged driverside door seal
    - Really noisey door pin
    - Driver side door rust- Fit my HU
    - Upgrade Audio
    - Repair damaged Wind Mirror
    - Repair scatches to paint work
    - Repair some scuffs to the door handles
    - Parcel Shelf rattle
    - Replacement engine cover or repair mine, the screw holes are pushed through and the thing rattles to hell cutting into pipes and making noise.
    - 3 small dings to have repaired
    - Alloy wheel refurbishment maybe in black (Stock SRi one's)
    - Jet Wash, Clay, Polish and Wax - eventually.
    - Restore or replace scratched headlight plastics
    Some poor quality phone pictures because I dont own a real camera.

    First thing that blew my mind before I knew what CANBUS was, and that the Vectra manages to use a single coil bulb like a double;
    Cleaning contacts on bulb worked, but I was convinced I was missing two brake lights for a while not realising that they were not cancelling each other out but that 2 of 4 sidelights are ALSO 2/4 brake lights.

    It works, lots of pictures not that exciting will be the theme of this project, sorry - Maybe later when the basics are covered.

    Air filter looked shot, only seems to use half of the filter also;
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    Now replaced with a BOSCH filter and hoovered out the airbox;
    Tried to stop the parcel shelf rattle so replaced this;
    [IMG]
    Bought this to check for any codes and to check temperate of coolant as it seems my engine temp guage doesnt work;

    Also this week the car hit a pheasent when we had fog, it suddently decided to jump in front of my car off the side of the road at 60MPH.

    So glad the ****** was dying if not dead;

    Still getting no temperature reading (in hindsight but at time of photo had no idea)

    Really dirty Oil;
    [IMG]
    [IMG]
    Rear Driver side wheel started grinding, turns out my brake is always on;
    Offside - Full pad
    [IMG]
    Driver side - No pad - Cause of noise;
    [IMG]

    First tank repair went in, caliper also replaced under warranty as I had just bought the car. Garage refused to accept thermostat at fault as it appeared to open and close.

    Appears working - I seem to be getting 85 Degrees on the move, this normal or meant to be 90degs?
    [IMG]#
    As of yesterday and day before this was undertaken I am hoping to improve the MPG of 38 to be closer to ther 48/51MPG mark as computer states. As leak is also fixed it seems.

    Potentially looking at Wind Deflectors again like I had on my Corsa, I miss my corsa after the ****e this has put me through so far.
    [IMG]
    Bought it for £1300 02 plate 52K but facelifed due to a CatD I didnt notice when bought but car was solid and only need some TLC maintenance.
    Pollen filter I forgot about, so got one on route to replace this;
    [IMG]
    Missing three airbox screws, sorting this soon;
    [IMG]
    Return air take looking dirty, want to get a throttlebody,EGR,Valve clean asap;

    A minor thing to fix, this isnt engaging properly,
    [IMG]

    Threads a bit hit and miss, its been done in hindsight. My "Projects" are more restore and good car health as this is my workhorse - without this I cant work as commute Middlesbrough to York. Once happy I will look into cosmetic repairs, restoration then mods.
    Would love to do whatever I can to increase MPG and improve engine health as poor bugger has been doing 7K a year town miles for last few on 2yearly services.

    On-board computer was never going to take into account my fuel leak, but I've had an increase from 46/7 to 50/51.
    [IMG]
    You can compare the decent range I am now getting, got 520 before first leak repair, then 620 after leak repair round one, now 2nd round on repair and stat looking at maybe 700.

    really improved my MPG this fix (thermostat) - EGR to kill one day.

    Today got starter motor replaced with one that's done 10k, £60 part and £20 fitting;
    Mine did sound like this;
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/83bea3ng8xadi4u/2014-04-24 11.17.09.mp4
    Looked like this;
    [IMG]
    Now I have not let it go really cold to see the difference, I however can tell it fires now right away even when recently been used and its instant compared to before;
    [IMG]
    Also used some washers to try pin the engine cover still but really could use with finding some of the proper rubbers that go in the holes.
    [IMG]

    LED's ordered for Glovebox and boot and interior roof light both in LED and white till I make up my mind. Rest will be a slow work in progress.

    I have a question regarding my solid flywheel, are the chances of having a solid flywheel breaking my engine/crank likely? Might be a job to do in about 6months to get it back to a DMF if that's the case.
    Also think Im maybe not driving it with the revs high enough, generally keep it at 1500 to 2000 but lately in town noticed its down to 1000rpm. Might have to try worm my way from this habit if its bad for it.

    What a dead battery Vectra sounds like :(
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/9r7rd3wagjcacc4/2014-05-03 08.43.30.mp4
    Appears starter is working nice :)

    - These are both left overnight cold starts, the intermittent OR varied level of how bad it sounded wasn't battery or alt as this was checked, and wasn't effected by outside temperatures (IE GLOWPLUG related) but it was worse the longer the car was left regarding how many "turns" it seemed to take to fire, but not always, just generally. The "how bad it was" was kinda a cycle of good weeks and bad weeks.
    bit bullet and got a new starter.
    Also ordered some ring Loom Harness Adhesive Cloth Fabric Tesa tape 19mm x 15m

    Now it's raining and I've had two hours sleep since yesterday, so going to do a large job application then sleep.
    Pipe has a wear mark where cover was cutting into it. Did this to protect it a bit and it shouldnt cut anymore due to washers I used earlier in thread but just in case until I source the official mounts.

    Hopefully mats and wind deflectors arrive tomorrow.

    Might actually go back and properly tape up the wiring when I've pulled off the perished sections of plastic tubing.
