That's an unbelievable price. For mine, I'm looking at at least 2.5k and possibly more depending on how bad the rot is on the inner quarters and inner wings (fingers crossed!)

Be sure to post up plenty of progress shots. Looks like you, me and Paul are all having resprays at the same time!

Quick update, I've not got it sprayed yet as other commitments have come up' however i've been buying some bits ready for her. New rear arches NS and OS arrived today as mine are shot. I've undercoated the entire underside yesterday with Hammerite waxoyl and what a job it turned out to be.. She will be off the the garage shortly for new springs fitted and as ive noticed the handbrake is shot to hell that will also have to be done. Today i've washed out the engine bay and i must say she looks fab for her age!

This is, sadly, a story that I can relate to only too well. I sought multiple respray quotes for our shed (5?) and all either didn't get back, were ridiculously expensive ($6kAUD/£4k), or, to their credit, said they weren't interested.

Yet people complain that business is down.

Well It's been re-lowered 40mm again, and it's now booked in to have the new rear arches cut/ welded and primed for respray... If all goes well it will be this year but honestly laying out £2200 might have to wait till next year. Question is currently it's star silver 2 but i wanna go completely new so what you reckon? I was thinking Black?

They normally charge a lot more to change colour if you want the door jams, eng. bay etc done. Otherwise you're gonna be left with silver jams etc.

We choose a different colour for the above-mentioned, but still a dark green as we didn't plan on doing the jams/bay.

On this basis, maybe a gunmetal or darker silver. You can't beat silver for hiding dirt & imperfections either.

If its not 3 certain german made cars they are not interested i reckon. That seems to be the attitude these days.
