    Hi guys

I went on a track day yesterday , I have never done one before , but what a day out , I can honestly say it was money well spent , there was a track briefing in the morning which was very informative and helpful , giving you the dos and don'ts for the day , then everybody had to go out for three laps which was behind a pace car at slow speed just to see what the track was like , then the day was run as a open pit lane , then basically you can go on and off the track as you please all day , I paid a extra £25 to rent a garage for the day this was well worth it ,
All in the day cost about £200 , with the track , garage and fuel , later on in the year the cost of the day goes up a bit , so we took a chance with the weather

I managed to use 3/4 of a tank of fuel in 63 miles

Just some of the photos of the day , thanks to Whippy ,
I have got some video of the day from the incar cameras and will post it up later on in the week

Just passed ? He destroyed it.
Was good on the brakes though hence it being so close through the chicane.
This was near the end of a half hour stint I'd say.

That little Fiat was brilliant lol

Watched it on the start/finish line going into the first right hander with no brakes lol

It was a little go cart, slow on the straights but in the corners, it was on rails

63 miles? You must have been coasting :p

Track days are great fun and the best way to explore the limits of your car and your driving. I agree that having a garage is a great benefit but did any of you go for the similarly priced 20 minute instruction? In my opinion, one of the best 'mods' you can do to your car in terms of going quick through the corners!

If you're hooked (which I suspect you may be), don't forget some of the not so obvious costs on top of the track day booking, fuel, etc, etc. So things like tyre wear (especially the inside edges), brake pads - brakes, if used properly, and I don't mean that disrespectfully, your brake pads will take a beating - maybe needing changed after one track day (if you do more days you WILL brake later and harder) and so it gets more expensive!

And if you decide to take another set of wheels with you for the day - on cut slicks eg Toyo 888s - you will put more wear on those drive shafts! And they are mega bucks!

Just some things to consider if you plan on doing (many ;)) more track days.

Oh and another cost, track day insurance, is worth it in my opinion. An extra £150 in case you (or someone else!) runs out of talent.

Great pics and great to see you enjoying your car.

I passed quite a few cars during the day :) ,
there was a good mix of cars running thorough the day , as for extra wear on the car , my brake caliper are no longer blue , but a burnt blue Pmsl ,

Later on in the week I'll put some video up from the day

Simon, you obviously are a natural - I remember being passed a lot of times on my first track day, not passing other cars :D and if you've turned your calipers a different colour then you must have been using your brakes properly! Good show!
