thought i may start a lil diary of the jobs on this old girl...

this morning i picked up my good friend dave msd...and off we went heading up north to county durham area....

on the way there we stopped to admire the views

    even got ozzy in

now to say i was nervous about this car was an understatement! on the advert pics she looked really rusty...i was thinking everything..complete rot box..underneath would have more holes in then a siv etc etc...

on the walk down the street to where she was..just peeking out

now i gave her a good check over, mainly the comon rot places, inside rear arches, underneath on chassis rails, around the gromets on floor pan and inside fuel flap...SOLID as out underneath!! so that was 1 big worry out the way.

turns out the reason she looks as bad as she does is cos the previous owner to me decided to use a high pressure power was and take off all bits of flaking paint etc :lips: some panels are actually salvageable...

test drive done and dusted..the most uncomfy vectra ever...suspension soooo hard..oh and plays guess that tune on way round with the creeks and knocks lol...

deal was done..paid for and off we are ready to leave...

    milage after buying her

    few pics before set off..

even turned onto 113k on way home

when i got back home, i went through all the paperwork i got with her, OMG..i have never had a vectra with so many receipts and the amounts on some of them is staggering..

looking forward to getting started on the revival of the old girl..

    thats it for now

so iv not done loads since getting her...mainly cos she was boxed in the garage with the wifes astra up on axle stands and no gearbox in...

now thats done and out the way with...time to start bits n bobs...

mainly web searching for parts tbh...its a slow process trying to find the stuff i want...

    firstly..new msd sticker..mine has half t missing..its a must

then this morning i went for a drive to a scrappy in sheffield to look at some body panels...all where "mint" excpet drivers door..

got there..well they had rust scabs...except 2 rear doors which where both nr on perfect condition (apart from few scratches/stone chips)

also rear bumper was aquired cos was not damaged (paint not the best but respray on cards anyways with apron on) and fuel flap as mine had a flop on..

also noticed a nice 2.6cdx in...so grabbed the rad cover off that...

    few pics of the bits..

they was covered in moss etc..so quick wash off ready to go..much better

so i decided to fit the door...

seems to of fitted spot on, just needs the lock mech altering, colour door handle fitted...glad its got a non tinted window was all of them will be coming out...

also carbon pillars will be getting replaced after spray work...

    soon got it whipped off

    newun fitted on

    and me new flap fitted

going to try and get other door fitted tomorrow...
