As above what have you used and what can you advise pros and cons
Deffo a set of mintex pads nick
Well I think I've bedded in my 308 MTEC Grooved & Drilled discs & Mintex pads and can say they are awesome Nick
Mtec grooved discs with mintex pads ftw lol
If your wanting to keep the brakes standard I'd recommend pagid.
on a b 2.2 dti
used to have standard disc/pads and there were fine until you started to give beans, then they cooked
changed to drilled/grooved discs and things didnt really get better....think the key is in the pads.
so changed to a little harder mintex pads, dusty as hell but a little better....but i still baked them as some from the Scarborough meet will tell you.
id advise on ebc green stuff altho i havent used them since my nova...but remember if the pads are harder, it will reduce the life of your discs
feroddo fast road pads and disks absolutely amazing but then again they were on the car when i bought it so i cant compare, soreee
Apec for me.
Looking for a low dust pad really but want good brakes aswell. Need new discs soon so just doin some research
nick i used brembos on my last vec and they have been the best saw far and they not 2 bad on cost as well and i had them on the 2.6 befor i had the 308 upgrade
I find genuine GM parts better than aftermarket
SAAB turbo 308 discs and pads in my V6 estate
have to go with the Mtec grooved discs with mintex pads, spot on.
i put some cheap PAGID pads + disc's all round on mine, they took awhile t bed in there not the best buy,
but they will do 4 now
Mtec grooved and drilled gsi discs and mintek pads
genuine mate, cant wait to sort out and get the 314's and 292's fitted lol
i need new all round but im tight so will prob go for pattern parts from a local car parts shop. should be able to get new all round for 60 quid with discount
I have used EBC grooved and dimpled disks and EBC Red stuff ceramic pads back and front for last 3 or 4 sets, wear is fairly rapid on both discs and pads, dust is low, braking is ok - but never found a great combo on the vectra tbh. Discs sound like a helicopter when window open on enclosed roads - thats annoying at times but not too bad.
Looking to go for somthing different next time as I would like black rather than gold disks!
Use Mtec drilled & grooved on my 2.5 Sri
330x30mm bells & rotors with Mintex pads on the front of ST200 0024 with Mtec drilled & grooved on the rears with Mintex pads
330x32mm one piece solid discs, EBC yellow pads on the front of ST200 0036, standard discs with Mtec pads on the rears
I work for a small motor factors and all we sell is trw lucas brake parts... by far the best quality for standard aftermarket braking parts. only supplier to offer oe high carbon brake discs fitted to new merc's, bmw's and high spec vaux's no other supplier is doing that and also the cotec coating on the pads to enable easier bedding in when using old discs and also most important the greater stopping distance compared to non cotec pads..
Each to there own obv and this is just my personal opinion but euro's pagid range!!!... by far the lower end of the market.. some good reviews however most bad.
this is also only a comparison to std aftermarket brakes not upgrades like brembo / tarox ect.
