Happy new year everyone from new zealand
As the title states my vectra b looses all power under hard acceleration and starts blowing out thick white smoke from the exhaust.
After a while idling i get power back back it takes a couple of days for the smoke to clear
There is no warning light and no error codes using op-com.
i have replaced the oxygen sensor - the maf sensor - the camshaft sensor and new plugs and air filter.
i have a buggered airbag ecu but that is the only error code i get
Any help would be much appreciated

White smoke usually indicates water leaks. Head gasket?

i checked the header tank for bubbles - none - the smoke smells burnt and its not steam

Have you added any fuel treatment like red ex or stp to the tank

i did a fuel treatment a couple of weeks ago
What i dont understand is that the car starts straight away and runs well at all temps and constant speeds but dies when i accelerate hard eg overtaking on a motorway

dont know what i did wrong.Hopefully the car will get me to work in the morning.I will just follow the speed of the other cars on the road till i can hopefully sort it out - Aaaargh

figured out my dash gauge prob.I rewrote the old file back onto the eeprom and got everything working again.(still need a copy of the original file to get airbag light off though)
the problem was i disconnected the opcom from the dla plug before it had finished communicating with the ecu which is why the car was stuck in PROG mode

I think i have tracked down the loss of power issue
I can hear air leaking from the back of the head which i think might be a couple of buggered injector seals.
    has anyone replaced these before?
    i have not done this

My secondhand airbag ecu has turned up today.Fingers crossed that it works. If it does i will read the eeprom and get the bin file off it and write it to my old ecu to see if i can get it going again. If i can then i have a spare with the original file if anyone wants a copy

Got my airbag light sorted with the secondhand ecu from ebay but unfortunately i couldnt write the good bin file to my old ecu - so no spare (sigh)
Now i just got a vaccum leak from the back of the head which i thought might be injector seals but is something else. Not sure what yet - Any ideas anyone?

Check all of the vacuum pipes in the area, a small split could soon cause smooth engine running issues.
